Map Fields Between DAZzle and Your PIM

Field mapping is the process of identifying for DAZzle the fields in your personal information manager (PIM) that should be used for reading or updating.

DAZzle shows the available fields in the selected PIM on the left and the types of fields DAZzle can use on the right. You need to make a connection (or map) between each PIM field and the DAZzle type. There should be a one-to-one connection between each field to be used and the DAZzle field type.

The Mapping Options dialog box also shows you:

Steps

  1. From either the Design tab or the Address Book tab, select File > Preferences.
  2. Select the PIMs tab.
  3. Clear the Disable All PIM interfaces check box.
  4. Select the check box of your PIM or contact manager.
  5. Click the Setup button.
  6. Select a PIM field (on the left), for example, Contact’s name.
  7. Select the matching field type in the DAZzle Professional field area (on the right). DAZzle draws a line connecting the two fields and the sample address box displays the field.

  8. Make sure you select all of the address fields in your PIM file.

You should map all of the address lines, even if you rarely use all of the address lines. DAZzle removes the unused lines when printing.
